Police in Kiboga district have arrested two directors of Spring of Wisdom primary school; Bruno Ddamulira and Gladys Nakalyango on allegations of murdering their 26-year-old teacher and her one-year-old baby.

Noeline Nabwenjje a teacher at Spring of Wisdom primary school and her one-year-old child Jonan Gayel were hacked to death on the night of June 30 inside their rented house in Kyanja cell in Kiboga town council.

After executing their mission, the assailants later locked their victims inside the house and fled. Kyanja LC I chairperson Constatine Ndawula says area residents became suspicious after the deceased failed to wake up the following morning, forcing the residents to break into the house.

They later alerted the police who swiftly rushed to the crime scene and commenced investigations. Racheal Kawala, Wamala region police spokesperson says the school directors were arrested on Monday to aid police with investigations.

According to Kawala, the police picked up the two bodies that were conveyed to the Kiboga general hospital for postmortem examination before they were later handed over to the relatives for burial.

Why arrest the school directors? The reason given "to aid with the investigation" is as flimsy as they come and that is lazy policing.
