Moses Kedi being arrested after shooting dead his colleague

A private security guard attached to Saracen Uganda Limited in Tororo, Moses Kedi has been arrested for allegedly shooting dead his colleague John Okudi.

Kedi was arrested at Tororo Cement factory in East Division, Tororo Municipality where he and his colleague were guarding before the incident occurred.

Tororo district police commander Adams Kimuli says that preliminary investigations reveal that Kedi used a pump action rifle gun to shoot Okudi at around 8 am, killing him instantly. He says that Kedi has now been arrested together with another person who allegedly witnessed the fight.

Claire  Apoya, a neighbour narrates that she heard a quarrel between the two guards and a gunshot minutes later. She adds that by the time neighbours responded to the shots, the other guard had breathed his last. They intercepted Kedi and handed him to the police.

Kevin Mwambu, Saracen assistant Tororo branch manager, says that the gruesome incident occurred just hours after the guards briefing in which they had been cautioned against the misuse of guns. The incident comes less than a week after another private security guard working with Capital Guards and Patrol shot dead his colleague under unclear circumstances.

Peter Ochoroi, 26, allegedly shot dead in the forehead his colleague, John Mujumbi, 25, also working with the same security company on Saturday at about 12.30 pm in Kalule Zone, Lukuli parish in Makindye Division in Kampala.

In other words, Ugandans are now paying the price of Gen Tibuhaburwa myth of "demystifying the gun".

I have said it here before. Given the number of guns in every corner and every twist and turn; Uganda is now like a pit of hissing and slithering venomous snakes.
