Namisindwa man beheads wife over extramarital affair with neighbour

A man in Namisindwa district has surrendered to the police after beheading his wife, Justine Wachemba over alleged involvement in an extramarital affair.
The suspect, Vincent Bwayo, resides in Watoko village, Butingu parish, Bumali sub-county in Namisindwa district. According to Nicolas Nasaala, one of the area residents, Bwayo committed the gruesome act on Friday night.
He explains that Bwayo had accused Wachemba, 23, multiple times of being in a romantic relationship with their neighbour identified as James Musoba.
Julie Namara, Namisindwa deputy resident district commissioner, confirmed the incident, stating that Bwayo is in custody at Namisindwa police station. She revealed that Bwayo beheaded his wife at the River Salaa bridge while allegedly taking her to confront Musoba.
After the brutal incident, he abandoned the body on the bridge and carried the severed head to Musoba's doorstep before turning himself in at the Namisindwa police station. Police transferred the victim's head and other remains to the Mbale city mortuary for further examination.
Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson declined to comment on the matter, saying they were still gathering information.
