Father defiles nine-year-old twin daughters "to acquire wealth"

A 40-year-old man has been arrested in Kamuli district for allegedly defiling his nine-year-old twin daughters as part of a ritual aimed at acquiring quick wealth.

Silver Kadhumbula, a resident of Ndaliike village in Namwendwa town council was arrested by police following a tipoff from his wife, who alerted local leaders about the disturbing incident. The wife, whose identity is withheld, revealed that Kadhumbula frequently stayed alone with the twin girls while she worked in the garden with their other children.

Initially, there were no suspicions of any inappropriate behaviour, given that he was their biological father. She mentioned a previous incident where she returned home unexpectedly to fetch drinking water and found Kadhumbula lying in bed with the twins. He reportedly explained that they were unwell, and he was comforting them to sleep.

However, noticing the suspicious behaviour from Kadhumbula, the wife alerted her in-laws, who cautioned him. When the acts persisted, she decided to inform local leaders to intervene. Kadhumbula who is currently detained at Namwendwa police station, claimed that a wealthy friend in Kamuli municipality introduced him to a shrine.

"One of my childhood friends is enviably wealthy and when I approached him to advise me on how best I can create wealth, he led me to a shrine, where the ritualist directed me to defile my twin daughters," he said.

He justified his actions by asserting that twins possess supernatural wealth-generating powers, and establishing a sexual connection with them could extend this wealth to the entire household. Although Kadhumbula did not specify the duration of this evil practice, he expressed a belief that these rituals would bring forth blessings, including abundant harvests, enabling him to buy a car, build a large house, and provide modern education for his children.

Pius Mugweri, Namwendwa town council LC III chairperson received reports of Kadhumbula's suspicious behaviour and alerted police detectives to investigate the matter thoroughly. Mugweri highlighted the prevalence of superstitious beliefs in the community, linking wealth and health to occult practices.

The officer in charge of Namwendwa police station, Sowedi Nuwagaba, confirmed the incident, stating that Kadhumbula faces charges of aggravated defilement and child abuse.

Nuwagaba mentioned that the victims had given statements and underwent medical examinations, confirming sexual penetration. Further investigations include a comprehensive mental evaluation of Kadhumbula to assess his mental state in connection with the cases against him.

It is unfortunate that some of these African wealthy and Christian friends are working hard in all sorts of ways to convince the African poor who are gullible enough that wealthy giving only comes from their brains.

This sort of behaviour is very common by many greedy for power polliticians, pastors , and traditional ritulists on this continent especially during electioneering.
